Belgravia II

The arrangement of this very energy-efficient house, Energuide 87, creates a south exposed courtyard in the large east facing lot. The many windows fill the living areas with sunlight, with shading for summer cooling. The living room at the front of the house has a high arched wood ceiling above curved beams with a loft office space. There are two bedrooms upstairs, a second office on the main floor, and copious built-in bookshelves and drawer storage on all three levels. The interior has extensive wood finishes including window seats, solid maple frame doors, and decorative trim and railings. The house is super-insulated and has two geothermal heat pumps for heating and cooling, as well as a roof mounted solar panel for water heating. The exterior is fibre-cement and acrylic stucco.
