Belgravia House

Originally designed as a Feng shui single storey contemporary house, we were told by 'architectural control' to make several changes, including adding a 2nd storey and stone panels on the front wall, to bring it into context with the neighbours. The owner agreed to the upper level bedroom, but approval was never granted, meaning the loss of a deposit. The form is simple, yet provides a dramatic interior space complimented by built-in millwork and finishes of high quality materials. Because the house was built in 2006, the walls are conventional R-20, 2 x 6 with R-40 insulation in the roof. Windows are triple-glazed, but the house requires air conditioning.

Completed in summer 2007. Put on the market by the client and sold the first day.

We designed and managed the landscaping in 2009.
